A growing trend in cosmetic procedures is eyebrow collagenation, which is intended for people who want to improve the thickness and natural shape of their brows. Collagenation, as opposed to traditional brow treatments, concentrates on providing the hairs with collagen nourishment, resulting in a fuller and healthier appearance.
This procedure is a great choice for anyone who has thin or sparse eyebrows because it strengthens the individual brow hairs and encourages growth. The procedure includes treating the brows with a unique collagen-infused formula that conditions and revitalizes the hairs from the inside out.
It’s crucial to understand what to anticipate during the process and what products are usually used if you’re thinking about getting your eyebrows collagenated. This post will walk you through the procedure and explain how the treatment can improve your brows.

What is eyebrow collagenation
The goal of collagenization, also known as collagen therapy, is to strengthen and fortify hairs so they can withstand more environmental stresses. Special compounds based on waterproof collagen and other ingredients are used to accomplish this.
Collagen is a type of connective protein that helps to form the body’s connective tissues. Waterproof collagen is made up of molecules that have been divided into smaller pieces so they can reach the hair’s deep layers.
Since collagen compounds initially surfaced in 2017, the process is still relatively new and not very popular. In contrast to eyebrow lamination, which thickens hair but is still not the most beneficial procedure, collagenation is focused on health from the beginning to the end, with aesthetic beauty coming last.
Impact of collagenization of the eyebrows:
- makes eyebrows thicker and stronger;
- adds additional volume;
- reduces the susceptibility of hairs to external factors by creating an invisible protective film on the hairs;
- starts the process of collagen production by the body;
- reduces hair porosity
- protects from the destructive effects of ultraviolet radiation;
- increases the flexibility of hairs for styling.
The primary benefit of collagen therapy formulations is the decrease in toxic ingredients that negatively impact the condition of the skin beneath the brows and the eyebrows themselves.
Collagen therapy products are not made with the same thioglycolic acid that is present in lamination products. Neither hydrogen peroxide nor ammonia are listed among the ingredients. While it is true that some ingredients can be substituted, the compositions differ significantly when dangerous ingredients are removed from the list. For instance, there is twice as much sodium bromate—a component of the fixing step—in collagen products as there is in laminating ones.
Collagen therapy saw the replacement of hazardous ammonia and thioglycolic acid with:
- hydroisolated collagen. Such collagen is "broken" into small molecules that can penetrate deep into the hair, and not remain on the surface;
- oats. It makes hair manageable;
- lanolin;
- oils;
- panthenol.
Notably, helpful elements are present at every stage—even when hair is loosening and healing is happening concurrently with the primary process.
Coarse hairs and unruly hair reaction to styling are the primary indications for collagen therapy. If your eyebrows are easily styleable without the need for strong fixation products like gel or wax, you’re unlikely to notice any difference from collagen therapy.
Collagenation’s primary drawback is its high cost. Prices range from 1500 to 3000 rubles, or more, based on the location.
How it is carried out
The amount of product used is the only distinction between collagenization and other eyebrow procedures like lamination, biofixation, or botox in terms of execution.
During the process, you will require:
- a set for collagenization of eyebrows and eyelashes. At the moment, only one brand produces products – LVL. Until recently, you could only buy a set with a certificate confirming the completed course in collagenization of eyebrows, but now many online stores are openly selling;
- round eyebrow brushes – 4 pcs.;
- cotton pads.
Before we get into the detailed instructions, let’s have a quick look at the set from LVL.
The English business LVL was the first to introduce eyelash and eyebrow lamination products to the market. A new product, a collagenation kit with an enhanced composition that takes care of the hair, was later released in 2017.
Two types of releases exist:
- blisters, consisting of all 4 steps at once;
- sachet – each step is purchased separately.
The first option is more practical because everything you need is right there, saving you time and effort when measuring.
Four compositions are applied to the hairs during the procedure:
- glue. Relevant for collagenization of eyelashes. With the help of glue, the eyelashes are fixed on the roller;
- composition for opening the hair scales;
- nutritional composition to improve the structure of the hair;
- "closing" composition, rich in vitamins.
A single procedure is intended for a single blister. Since it is opened right in front of the customer, there are no more worries about product spoilage or the entry of bacteria or other microbes.
Step-by-step instructions
- Cleanse the hairs from cosmetics using micellar water or lotion;
- Degrease the eyebrows;
- Apply the first product, which will loosen the hair and make it susceptible to the penetration of useful components. If you use the compositions in blisters, it will be number 2 – 1 composition in this case is glue. Apply the product with a dry, clean brush, trying not to touch the skin;
- Hold the composition for 10 to 14 minutes – there is no need to create a sauna effect;
- Remove the remaining product and apply the next one, but with a new dry brush. Hold the same time without the sauna effect;
- Finish the manipulations by applying the final composition from the blister under number 4. As soon as the holding time is up, remove the composition with a cotton pad.
Eyebrow care after collagenation
- do not wet your eyebrows for the first 24 hours. It is also recommended to avoid steam, for example, when cooking;
- do not visit baths and saunas on the first day;
- do not use oil-based products – they can reduce the severity of the effect.
Questions and Answers
In order to save money, the masters in our city chose to perform the procedure using lamination and botox compositions, billing the procedure as collagen therapy. To what extent is this justified?
It’s common practice to combine lamination and Botox compounds in one procedure, but this is not collagenization. A procedure like this might have an externally similar visual effect to collagen therapy. We strongly advise against using such manipulations since they mislead the consumer.
I know that experts split the money over three or four sessions, even though you mentioned that the blister is used for one client. Which approach is right?
As directed by the manufacturer, use one blister for each client. The compounds react with oxygen when the foil packaging is opened, potentially decreasing their potency. Furthermore, since the hermetic seal has been broken, dust, sunlight, and moisture will all be able to interact with the contents of the cells, raising storage concerns in addition to the savings.
The outcome typically lasts between one and 1.5 months. Everything is dependent upon the girl’s unique traits and her adherence to the post-procedure instructions.
Can you purchase the recipe and perform the process at home?
Of course, you can purchase a set even if you are unable to obtain a certificate of authenticity. However, keep in mind that trained specialists are able to assess the state of the eyebrows and modify the holding period accordingly. It is not advised that you perform the procedure on yourself if you lack even the most basic knowledge about this.
Are the products in a blister and a sachet, which are sold separately, different?
No, there isn’t, and the usage and holding time guidelines will remain the same.
Since there is no mention of contraindications in the article, does this imply that there are none?
Individual intolerance to any of the composition’s ingredients is the only condition that precludes the procedure. We advise performing an allergy test prior to use. There aren’t any additional usage limitations.

A delicate and efficient method of enhancing the inherent beauty of your brows is through eyebrow collagenation. The procedure helps to strengthen and nourish each hair by infusing it with collagen, giving the brows a fuller, more defined appearance.
Compared to more conventional techniques like brow gels or pencils, this method is easier to use, fits a wider range of brow types, and provides a longer-lasting result. The results can last for weeks with regular maintenance, making it a practical choice for people who want to streamline their beauty regimen.
All things considered, eyebrow collagenation is an excellent option for anyone looking for low maintenance, well-groomed brows. It is a procedure that combines aesthetics and care to give your face a refined appearance that accentuates its natural features.
