Making the correct summertime foundation choice can completely transform your beauty regimen. Your skin has different needs in the heat and humidity, so it might not work as well to use the same foundation as in the winter. Finding a foundation that is lightweight, provides the necessary coverage, and remains in place throughout the day is the aim.
Many people like foundations with a natural, breathable finish when the weather gets warmer. This lessens the likelihood of heavier products giving off the dreaded caked-on appearance. Water-based, oil-free, or lightweight formulas are frequently excellent options because they give off a dewy, fresh finish that looks fantastic in the sun.
It’s also crucial to take your foundation’s sun protection factor (SPF) into account. In addition to improving your complexion, a good summertime foundation should shield your skin from damaging UV rays. SPF-built foundations can save you an extra step in your skincare routine and protect your skin from the sun while you enjoy the outdoors.

Which foundation is suitable for the summer?
Even though summer has finally arrived, there are still some challenges that come with it. Beautiful makeup enthusiasts are aware of this. They must alter the contents of their cosmetic bag so that the skin feels comfortable even in the presence of the sun’s heat beneath a layer of makeup. A lot depends on the foundation selection.
The summer’s foundation should:
- be light in texture – dense coverage can become a heavy burden for the skin in the summer;
- be durable, otherwise in the heat the makeup will simply "melt";
- slightly mattify the skin, preventing the appearance of an oily shine;
- protect from UV rays – you need a formula with SPF in the composition;
- contain caring components to prevent skin dehydration.
It’s crucial to comprehend your skin type’s characteristics when selecting a foundation. This ultimately determines the quality of your makeup. The proper application of foundation is the second crucial component. We go into greater detail about this in our video tutorial.

Foundation for summer for combination skin
Combination skin combines the characteristics of multiple other types: it can be oily and shiny in the T-zone, red and pimple-prone at times, and dry on the cheeks. Under these circumstances, hybrid foundations that have a light mattifying effect and a care function perform better. Consider listening to Stay Naked by Urban Decay.
The ability to customize application density is particularly crucial for people with combination skin types, and the smart foundation delivers a poufy, even tone. Layering allows you to achieve a dense or translucent coverage. Furthermore, this product is incredibly durable considering how light it is.
Finding a foundation that keeps your skin looking natural and fresh throughout the summer is the key to selecting the perfect shade for your skin type. It’s crucial to take into account elements such as your skin type, the texture of the foundation, and its SPF protection in order to guarantee a breathable, light finish that endures all day. To keep a balanced complexion, look for foundations with hydrating and oil-controlling qualities. For a flawless finish, choose a shade that complements your summer skin tone.
The best foundation for summer for oily skin
Active sebum secretion is a hallmark of oily skin, which explains why oily shine occurs on it. First and foremost, a foundation designed for this type of skin needs to prevent inflammation and the formation of a "oil" film. It also needs to have a mattifying effect so that the skin looks flawless all day long, even with its imperfections.
Oily skin types can benefit from a foundation like L’Oréal Paris’ Infaillible in the summer. The most crucial thing to understand about it is that its name includes the adjectives "long-lasting" and "mattifying" for a purpose. The foundation’s formula is not only long-lasting but also waterproof, so it will withstand summer rains and sea spray alike. Simultaneously, the skin has a light matte finish due to the cream’s even distribution and lack of density. Maybe we don’t need to provide any more "for" arguments.

The Infaillible Fresh Tone 24H face foundation is the best makeup product I have ever owned. With the help of this breathable, waterproof product, you can keep your complexion looking great for the whole day. Because the innovative formula preserves the skin’s natural breathing ability, it creates an impeccable and light coverage that is unnoticeable, much like a "second skin."
I’ve been really into L’Oréal Paris’ Infaillible Matte Foundation lately.Everyone just notices that my skin tone has become much more even than before, and it perfectly tones the skin. This solves my never-ending dilemma of "I can’t find the perfect foundation for oily skin," as it’s barely noticeable on the face and no one has ever told me that I’ve smeared something on my face.Therefore, I heartily endorse this cream and thank its makers!

Summer foundation for dry skin
With dry skin, which is prone to peeling and requires continual hydration replenishment, it’s a whole other story.
- It is for this type of skin, unlike oily skin, that creams with oils in the composition are perfect – they provide a much deeper and more effective effect than many moisturizing components.
- In the summer, there is no need to be afraid of formulas with oils. The main thing is to apply them in moderation.
Additionally, the products themselves are designed to provide the skin with the highest level of comfort; Giorgio Armani’s Maestro Fusion Makeup veil, for instance, is made of non-greasy oils. They moisturize and nourish the skin, but strangely, the coating that remains after using this foundation also becomes matte. To balance the tone with a thin layer of this product, you only need a few drops.

Maybelline’s Affinitone foundation is an excellent alternative for people with dry skin during the summer. It includes vitamin E, argan oil, and a shock dose of hyaluronic acid, which moisturizes the skin for up to 12 hours. Not only does the foundation have a satin finish and natural radiance, but it also effectively conceals pores, which is a crucial feature. Even for skin that is sensitive
Summer foundation for problem skin
Summertime brings stress to those with acne. Irritation or inflammation can be quickly triggered by a variety of factors, the primary one being high temperatures, which cause the skin to feel "stuffy."
- Therefore, in addition to a light texture that does not clog pores, a foundation should have healing and soothing properties.
These qualities are especially present in the corrective foundation fluid Dermablend from Vichy, which was developed especially for acne-prone problem skin. The fluid is non-comedogenic, effectively conceals flaws, and leaves the skin feeling weightless for up to 16 hours. Its enhanced durability will come in handy during the summer months.

I really love correctors and foundations. For those who have dark circles under the eyes and uneven skin, this is just a salvation. Here I have a foundation with a corrective effect Dermablend 3D SPF 25, Vichy The foundation was very well absorbed and shaded on the skin of my hands. It has a very interesting texture. So plump, similar to liquid shadows. I would not say that it is insanely dense. The coverage is not super-strong. You need to be able to make friends with it, because.. there are problems with shading, it is better to rub the cream into the skin with light movements, and not rub and smear. I think that this cream is definitely not bad. But for a lover of dry creams, so to speak. It does not shine on the skin and does not make it greasy, it is quite possible not to use powder after applying the foundation. And most importantly, the cream is non-comedogenic!
My skin, unfortunately, is prone to acne, and sometimes suffers from peeling, unevenness and other troubles. For a long time I struggled with choosing a foundation that suits me, I tried many options until I got my hands on Dermablend cream from Vichy. The manufacturer positions it as a masking and problem skin care cream with "3D correction" technology. I would like to tell you about my experience of using it and the validity of the manufacturer"s statements. First, the advantages: 1) The cream has a pleasant texture that seems to fill in all the dimples, and eliminates unevenness on the skin before your eyes. 2) The cream fights acne, as it contains salicylic acid. After 2 months of use, there are really much fewer rashes on the face, and if they appear, the cream successfully cauterizes and stops them. 3) The cream contains a photo filter SPF 25, which is undoubtedly pleasing. It protects against harmful ultraviolet radiation, prevents the appearance of wrinkles and skin aging. 4) After using the cream, the complexion becomes uniform, pleasant beige. In principle, the cream is not particularly noticeable on the face, so everything looks natural. And now a little about the disadvantages: 1) Unfortunately, the foundation does not last very long on the face despite the company"s promises. It definitely doesn"t last 16 hours, but it"s enough for 8-9 hours, so overall, the durability is not bad (but less than stated by the manufacturer). 2) I didn"t really notice the matte effect. That is, at first it seems to be there, it lasts for several hours, and then shiny areas appear on the skin, which is strange. Perhaps this is due to the excessive sebum secretion of my skin. General impressions: Excellent foundation for its money! It copes with all its tasks and works throughout my working day, making the face smooth and beautiful and taking care of it.
I was thrilled with my purchase of Vichy, Dermablend, which I made on a whim because I wanted to try something different! My skin type is combination/oily, and the foundation’s texture works well to cover up oily spots and acne. The cream’s color matches my fair skin, which is the coolest part—I don’t need to buy two tubes to mix the colors to get the right shade. Naturally, I have to touch up my makeup throughout the day because Vichy’s Dermablend doesn’t last the promised 16 hours on me, but that doesn’t bother me in the slightest! In addition, I really like the cream’s black tube and it smells delicious.
