Production technology
It wasn’t until recently that brand discussions started to occur on social media and the Internet. TM "Option" was founded five years ago. The brand was initially not advertised online, preferring to concentrate on offline sales. Additionally, "Option" started to grow its online sales in 2019.
One could say that the brand was forced to emerge. Before, Sergey Smolyakov, the brand’s creator, marketed an American line of allergy-friendly nail products. However, at some point, collaboration became challenging, and supply disruptions started to occur.
Recognizing the demands of experts and customers experiencing allergic reactions, Sergey made the decision to produce his own product to help girls fight for attractive nails without endangering their health and to avoid relying on foreign suppliers. Its recipe is enhanced and augmented using American samples as a foundation. This is the origin of TM "Option," which is currently among the most approachable brands for people with allergies.
We made an effort to learn the company’s and the formula’s creation, but alas—it’sacommercial secret. Who would share the recipe, which is currently a great competitor in the market, was expected. All we were able to learn was that the products are made with as few, if any, potentially hazardous ingredients as possible. Naturally, recognized allergens are not discussed in the company’s laboratory; in fact, they are not even regarded as ingredients.
We made the decision to put Option’s three-phase gel polishes to the test on ourselves to see if they truly are hypoallergenic. However, first, a crucial modification:
Being hypoallergenic does not imply being universal. Every girl has a unique body that responds differently to various elements. Although there is a decreased chance of allergies with Option gel polishes, individual intolerance still exists.
First data: To avoid prolonging the experiment, I had to wear multicolored nails while testing all the shades mentioned in the article on myself. One time, I developed an allergy to gel polish, and the reason was a well-known low-cost producer of nail polish.
My symptoms included itching, redness around the nail, and, as a bonus, deterioration of the nail plate, which required a painful and drawn-out restoration process.
After switching to a different brand of gel polish, I stopped having allergic reactions, but I’m now conscious of the possibility of them happening again. I was cautious when doing the testing because "Option" is an inexpensive gel polish. A little less than 300 rubles is the price listed on the official website.
Here, it’s critical to comprehend how pricing is determined because even gel polishes on AliExpress can range in price from $2 to $9. Factors influencing the cost:
- location – the further from Russia, the higher the transportation costs;
- status of production areas – own or contract. Despite the apparent benefits of contract manufacturing, your own workshop is cheaper. Contract manufacturing is a way out for those who produce little and do not want to mess around with documents, because obtaining production permits is a long quest;
- raw materials. It is not about quality, but about origin. If raw materials are supplied from abroad, the manufacturer depends on the exchange rate – the dollar has grown, the purchase price has increased, the final product has become more expensive. If the supplier of raw materials is Russian – the exchange rate plays a secondary role;
- level of demand. The higher the demand, the lower the costs on the scale of the company as a whole. It sounds paradoxical, but it is so. If a non-stop production produces 1000 units of products per day and sells 10 – the costs will be several times higher than the income. Hence the increase in prices for products to level the playing field.
Regarding Option, the business operates its own manufacturing facilities in Russia, collaborates with regional suppliers, and gauges output based on demand from customers. All of this adds up to a fair price for products of a respectable quality.
The "Organic" gel polishes, which have the highest pigmentation, were selected as examples.
- №11 – Scarlet;
- №14 – Burgundy;
- №41 – Light lilac;
- №23 – Light green;
- №2 – Black.
Here’s something to sate your desire for shiny objects: №50 White Gold.
6 popular shades of Organic
Generally speaking, there are only roughly 50 shades available from the brand. The most common colors are mostly simple hues. Overall, this is even better because, to start with, you don’t have to suffer through a difficult decision, and there’s less chance that you’ll purchase a gel polish that, like hundreds of others, has been sitting in a warehouse for two years. It is anticipated that the 100 shade mark will be attained soon.
Oddly enough, the product formulas are the cause of the limited options. The manufacturer’s hands are tied because "Option" stresses hypoallergenicity and uses organic pigments in gel polishes.
There are two methods:
- Leave everything as is, and please with safe products and 100 of its shades;
- Release 300 different colors, but not with organic, but synthetic dyes. Well, and put an end to the reputation, because with the use of synthetic pigments the risk of allergic reactions increases many times.
Characteristics of the "Organic" line
- odor – present, but weak – felt if you bring the bottle close to your nose. This means that the product either does not contain at all, or has little acrylic acid esters – it often gives a sharp aroma. This is a plus for the masters, because inhaling the vapors of gel polish during a work shift leads, at a minimum, to a headache;
- consistency – thick. Gel polishes turned out to be unusually thick for me, but for masters working with different densities this will not be a difficulty. In addition, the layer is self-leveling and the main thing is not to apply the coating too thick;
- brush. Straight, with an even cut, medium thickness. The villi do not climb, open up in a medium fan. Quite maneuverable – easily paints under the cuticle and side edges;
- bottle. There was an incident with the bottle. Initially, the packaging disappointed me – the square lid is inconvenient to hold when applying gel polish. It turned out that this is just a case hiding a small neat and, most importantly, rounded holder that sits comfortably in the hand. The packaging itself is stylish, compares favorably with the packaging that the brand had before.
Regarding the packaging, I found the color indication to be satisfactory. In addition to the shade number, a colored sticker that matches the bottle’s contents’ tone is also present on the lid and side edge. This is handy because it saves you from having to open each gel polish bottle, examine the shade, and match the applied number to the painted palette.
No. 11 "Scarlet"
I was not a huge fan of scarlet gel polish until I discovered this shade from TM "Option." The primary cause of this distaste is its simplicity. Although it appeared excessively empty and flat, this gel polish can be given another chance. Fair-skinned girls with short or medium-length nails will look great in this superb noble shade. In the picture, there are two choices: under a matte and under a glossy top. applying one layer of paint.
Fits as closely as possible given my lack of experience with a thick consistency. does not leave any bald patches or stripes behind; this is the thickness’s main advantage. dries without any issues.
No. 14 Burgundy
This shade, which belongs to the red-burgundy color palette, is a favorite of thousands of women in addition to mine. After burgundy and other pigmented shades, the primary issue that girls deal with is stained nail plates. It worked in this instance because there is hardly any pigment left on the nails.
Similar to scarlet, it applies smoothly and provides color density in a single layer.
No. 41 Light lilac
Pastel colors are set to reappear as the spring season approaches. Although light lilac gel polish looks great on short and medium-length nails, it can be applied to nails of any length or shape.
You can apply gel polish No. 41 from Option in a single coat during a manicure without having to worry about stripes or insufficient color density.
No. 23 Light green
The gel polish with the most issues out of the ones tested. I made at least three coats of paint on the palette. Given that it deceitfully refused to lie down in a thin layer and dry in the lamp, it even appeared to be much denser than the others. Thankfully, it continued to function after several tries.
Similar to light lilac, light green is ideal for a manicure in the spring, just as the trees are starting to bud and nature is beginning to reawaken.
No. 2 Black
I never get a manicure because I can’t give up all of my nerve cells for a pretty manicure. I had to try, though, because an experiment is an experiment. Everything turned out not to be as scary as it seemed—a deep black color appeared in a single layer, and I didn’t even need to use a tambourine to dance.
№50 White gold
Well, and the shade "White Gold" to satiate the inner "magpie" and a pleasant mood. Gorgeous gel polish featuring tiny, shimmering crystals. Given that big sparkles are among the anti-trends for 2021, this is a fantastic choice for shine enthusiasts.
There are three ways to apply the shade:
- on the base as an independent color;
- on a colored substrate;
- instead of the top – after removing the sticky layer, the gel polish remains glossy.
Now, the purpose of this review is to examine the coating’s quality and the body’s response. For approximately a week while the gel polish was worn, there was no peeling or adverse reactions like itching or redness. Although the coating would have lasted longer, multicolored nails seem odd when worn for regular occasions.
What else do you need to know
- let the body unload and rest before using hypoallergenic gel polishes "Option" so that the accumulated allergens do not distort the picture. If you apply different coatings in a row, not allowing your hands and body to come to their senses after the allergy that has manifested itself, it is impossible to understand the real reaction to specific products;
- TM "Option" is the only brand that offers a sample set of 15 different products. Among the samples there are gel polishes, base, top and gels for modeling. You can buy a set for 250 rubles and make sure there is no reaction before buying full-size formats;
- if your acquaintance with "Option" goes without allergies, be sure to try other products, for example, cuticle oil. At a price of only 140 to 300 rubles, the composition includes only natural unrefined oils – they act better than others on the quality of the skin, effectively moisturize and do not create unnecessary films on the surface;
- Option products are distributed through official representatives or the brand"s website. Despite the apparent inconvenience, this is a big plus – you will be sure that you bought an original product, and not a copy spilled in the basement.
- if there are difficulties in using coatings, questions regarding products, ask them directly to the brand on social networks. The company"s team provides feedback and helps to close any questions related to Option products.
